Was 9/11 a false flag operation? A false flag operation occurs when elements within a government stage a secret operation whereby government forces secretly pretend to be a targeted enemy while attacking their own forces or people. The attack is then falsely blamed on the enemy to justify going to war against that enemy.
The term comes from the old days of wooden ships, when one ship would hang the flag of its enemy before attacking another ship in its own navy. Because the enemy's flag was hung instead of the flag of the real country of the attacking ship, it was called a "false flag."
There are many examples of false flag attacks through history. For example, it is widely known that the Nazis, in Operation Himmler, faked attacks on their own people and resources which they blamed on the Poles, to justify the invasion of Poland.
And it has now been persuasively argued — as shown, for example, in this History Channel video — that Nazis set fire to their own parliament, the Reichstag, and blamed that fire on others. The Reichstag fire was the watershed event which justified Hitler's seizure of power and suspension of liberties.
And in the early 1950s, agents of an Israeli terrorist cell operating in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including U.S. diplomatic facilities, then left behind "evidence" implicating the Arabs as the culprits (one of the bombs detonated prematurely, allowing the Egyptians to identify the bombers). Israel's Defense Minister was brought down by the scandal, along with the entire Israeli government. Click here for verification.
The Russian KGB apparently conducted a wave of bombings in Russia in order to justify war against Chechnya and put Vladimir Putin into power (see also this essay and this report). And the Turkish government has been caught bombing its own and blaming it on a rebel group in order to justify a crackdown on that group. Muslim governments also play this game. For example, the well-respected former Indonesian president claimed that their government had a role in the Bali bombings.
This sounds nuts, right? You've never heard of this "false flag terrorism," where a government attacks its own people then blames others in order to justify its goals, right? And you are skeptical of the statements discussed above? Please take a look at these historical quotes:
"If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." - U.S. President James Madison
"Why of course the people don't want war ... But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship ... Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - Hermann Goering, Nazi leader.
What about the U.S.?
Is it logical to assume that, even if other countries have carried out false flag operations (especially horrible regimes such as, say, the Nazis or Stalin), the U.S. has never done so? Well, as documented by the New York Times, Iranians working for the C.I.A. in the 1950's posed as Communists and staged bombings in Iran in order to turn the country against its democratically-elected president (see also this essay).
And, as confirmed by a former Italian Prime Minister, an Italian judge, and the former head of Italian counterintelligence, NATO, with the help of the Pentagon and CIA, carried out terror bombings in Italy and blamed communists, in order to rally people’s support for their governments in Europe in their fight against communism. As one participant in this formerly-secret program stated: "You had to attack civilians, people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple. They were supposed to force these people, the Italian public, to turn to the state to ask for greater security."
Moreover, recently declassified U.S. Government documents show that in the 1960s, the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff signed off on a plan code-named Operation Northwoods to blow up American airplanes (using an elaborate plan involving the switching of airplanes), and also to commit terrorist acts on American soil, and then to blame it on the Cubans in order to justify an invasion of Cuba. The operation was not carried out only because the Kennedy administration refused to implement these Pentagon plans.

One quote from the Northwoods documents states: "A 'Remember the Maine' incident could be arranged: We could blow up a US ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba. Casualty lists in US newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation."
What about Al-Qaeda?
You might think Al-Qaeda is different. It is very powerful, organized, and out to get us, right? Consider this Los Angeles Times article, reviewing a BBC documentary entitled The Power of Nightmares, which shows that the threat from Al Qaeda has been vastly overblown (and see this article on who is behind the hype). And former National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski testified to the Senate that the war on terror is "a mythical historical narrative."
And did you know that the FBI had penetrated the cell which carried out the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, but had – at the last minute – cancelled the plan to have its FBI infiltrator substitute fake powder for real explosives, against the infiltrator's strong wishes (summary version is free; full version is pay-per-view)? Have you heard that the CIA is alleged to have met with Bin Laden two months before 9/11? Did you know that years after 9/11 the FBI first stated that it did not have sufficient evidence to prosecute Bin Laden for 9/11? The agency apparently still does not have any hard evidence linking Bin Laden to the crime (see also this partial confirmation by the Washington Post). And did you see the statement by the CIA commander in charge of the capture that the U.S. let Bin Laden escape from Afghanistan?
Have you heard that the anthrax attacks – which were sent along with notes purportedly written by Islamic terrorists – used a weaponized anthrax strain from the top U.S. bioweapons facility? Indeed, top bioweapons experts have stated that the anthrax attack may have been a CIA test "gone wrong." It is also interesting that the only Congress-members mailed anthrax letters were key Democrats, and that the attacks occurred one week before passage of the freedom-curtailing PATRIOT Act, which seems to have scared them and the rest of Congress into passing that act without even reading it. And though it may be a coincidence, White House staff began taking the anti-anthrax medicine before the Anthrax attacks occurred.
Even General William Odom, former director of the National Security Agency, said "By any measure the US has long used terrorism. In ‘78-79 the Senate was trying to pass a law against international terrorism, yet in every version they produced, the lawyers said the US would be in violation" (the audio is here).
Why Does This Matter?

Former prominent Republican U.S. Congressman and CIA official Bob Barr stated that the U.S. is close to becoming a totalitarian society and that the Bush administration used fear to try to ensure that this happened. Current Republican U.S. Congressman Ron Paul stated that the government "is determined to have martial law." He also said a contrived "Gulf of Tonkin-type incident may occur to gain popular support for an attack on Iran." Former National Security Adviser Brzezinski told the Senate that a terrorist act might be carried out in the U.S. and falsely blamed on Iran to justify war against that nation.
The former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration, Paul Craig Roberts, who is called the "Father of Reaganomics" and is a former editor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, and Scripps Howard News Service, has said:
"Ask yourself: Would a government that has lied us into two wars and is working to lie us into an attack on Iran shrink from staging 'terrorist' attacks in order to remove opposition to its agenda? ... If the Bush administration wants to continue its wars in the Middle East and to entrench the 'unitary executive' at home, it will have to conduct some false flag operations that will both frighten and anger the American people and make them accept Bush's declaration of 'national emergency' and the return of the draft. Alternatively, the administration could simply allow any real terrorist plot to proceed without hindrance."
General Tommy Franks stated that if another terrorist attack occurs in the United States "the Constitution will likely be discarded in favor of a military form of government." Daniel Ellsberg, the famous Pentagon Papers whistleblower, said "if there is another terror attack, I believe the president will get what he wants. And what he wants is a new Patriot Act, one that will make the current Patriot Act look like the Bill of Rights."
Former UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter stated before the Iraq war started that there were no weapons of mass destruction. He is now saying that he would not rule out staged government terror by the U.S. government. And British Parliament Member George Galloway stated that "there is a very real danger" that the American government will stage a false flag terror attack in order to justify war against Iran and to gain complete control domestically.
The abundance of reliable information in this essay suggests that not only has the U.S. in the past conducted false flag operations, but there is a possibility that 9/11 involved some element of this deceit, and a future false flag operation cannot be ruled out. Let us spread this news to all who care so that we might build the critical mass necessary to stop these secret operations and work together for a more caring civil society.

The Destruction of Building 7's Remains
Engineering is a science that melds theory and experience to create robust structures. Unintended structural failures are rare events that warrant the most careful scrutiny, since they test engineering theory.
That is why the NTSB carefully documents aircraft crash scenes, and preserves the aircraft remains, frequently creating partial reconstructions in hangars. If an investigation reveals a mechanical or design fault, the FAA usually mandates specific modifications of equipment or maintenance procedures system-wide, and future aircraft are designed to avoid the fault.
Unintended structural failures are less common in steel-framed highrises than in aircraft. Being the only such building in history in which fire is blamed for total collapse, Building 7's remains warranted the most painstaking examination, documentation, and analysis.
Building 7's rubble pile was at least as important as any archeological dig. It contained all the clues to one of the largest structural failures in history. Without understanding the cause of the collapse, all skyscrapers become suspect, with profound implications for the safety of occupants and for the ethics of sending emergency personnel into burning buildings to save people and fight fires.
There was no legitimate reason not to dismantle the rubble pile carefully, documenting the position of each piece of steel and moving it to a warehouse for further study. No one was thought buried in the pile, since, unlike the Twin Towers, Building 7 had been evacuated hours before the collapse. The pile was so well confined to the building's footprint that the adjacent streets could have been cleared without disturbing it.
Yet, despite the paramount importance of the remains, they were hauled away and melted down as quickly as possible. The steel was sold to scrap metal vendors and most of it was soon on ships bound for China and India. Some of the smaller pieces and a few token large pieces of steel marked 'save' were allowed to be inspected at Fresh Kills landfill by FEMA's BPAT volunteers.
This illegal evidence destruction operation was conducted over the objections of attack victims' family members and respected public safety officials. Bill Manning, editor of the 125-year-old Fire Engineering Magazine, wrote in an article condemning the operation:
Dr. Frederick W. Mowrer, an associate professor in the Fire Protection Engineering Department at the University of Maryland, was quoted in the New York Times as saying:
Officials running the "cleanup operation" took pains to make sure the structural steel didn't end up anywhere but in blast furnaces. They installed GPS locator devices on each of the trucks hauling loads from Ground Zero at a cost of $1000 each. One driver who took an extended lunch break was dismissed. 3

(SALEM, Ore.) - The man behind the 9/11 statement controversy in Washington D.C., Anthony "Van" Jones, has nobody in the world to apologize to, especially that pudgy idiot Glen Beck.
I have written several times about the absolute and total impossibility of the "official" government story on 9/11, starting with the alleged terrorists' passports being located on the ground almost immediately, conveniently, by federal officials.
Mostly unburned and perfectly legible, what a lucky break those passports were. The feds had the case wrapped up in about two hours with fingers cocked and pointed toward the Saudi suspects, which were used as a reason to attack Afghanistan... and then Iraq.
Why did Osama bin Laden deny responsibility for the terrorist attacks? Why didn't al Qaeda want to take credit?
Wouldn't you think that a terrorist who scored such a big hit on the U.S. would take full credit for it, why else do it? I realize that the American media aired so-called "bin Laden" tapes every time Americans started to calm down back in those first years after September 11th 2001, but only the powers to be know exactly who we were seeing.
I can tell you for a fact that it takes about an hour's time, driving around certain parts of Afghanistan, to see five or six men who look startlingly similar to bin Laden; including the white hat and the army jacket. They aren't hard to find.
A lot of people in the Mideast say the guy who shows up on the FBI tapes is not bin Laden, but somebody dressed to look like him.
The bottom line is that a scientific analysis of the facts of 9/11, the way the government presents them, lead back to the idea that none of it could have happened the way they describe.
The plane at the Pentagon would have had more than one or two pieces of visible wreckage, and there would have been something remaining of the titanium engine housings.
Federal spokesmen in a Popular Mechanics article called "Debunking the Myths of 9/11" contradict the hell out of each other. In the same article, one states that there is no wreckage of the 757 at the Pentagon, because the plane "turned into something like liquid". Then the other federal spokesman says he "held parts of the crew's uniforms and body parts in his hands".
I had to read it twice before I could even believe they had the audacity to print it. One guy says, the plane turned to liquid while the other guy says he's holding the parts of the people who would have been in the very front of the airplane. Besides, government spokesmen, total "suits", do not venture into high security crash areas and handle torn up human remains, it is a biological hazard and these characters don't put themselves at risk that way.
Americans are uncomfortable with the notion of imagining such a thing could be possible, but I say it is more unpatriotic not to question a clear and established pattern of lying by the Bush White House.
It is not wrong to question your government. Our forefathers like Thomas Jefferson told us it was essential. The list of inconsistencies in that sham of a government investigation, with Ann Coulter calling the wives of firefighters names, is sickening.
Rudy Guiliani had the ground zero concrete hauled overseas and away before federal investigators could go over it. The New York firefighters said they recovered the flight recorders and handed them off to federal investigators, yet the FBI says they were never recovered. An FAA spokesman is quoted saying that they are the only domestic crashes that happened in a contained space in history, where the flight recorders were not recovered.

If your automatic response is "the federal investigators", then you are probably not going to be able to get to the next step. It is a hard one. Nobody wants to believe this kind of stuff, and no, I don't in any way have the answers.
Here's another one; jet fuel does not and never could burn hot enough to melt steel. The Trade Towers were specifically designed to withstand the impact of a jet liner; they were among the best in the world.
Those who take the time to do the research know that thousands of professors around the country stand behind that. This is where the controversy with Van Jones ties back into it. The twin towers show every sign of having been imploded, and there is a lot of evidence to back that up. The best place to start for those who have the ability to take in the information is found in the documentary Loose Change.
The people who designed the buildings are the source of that information, and it is in Loose Change.
One of the things I frequently ask people is, "How many buildings came down that day in New York City?" While dealing with intelligent people, I frequently hear the answer, "two buildings."
They don't even realize that a third building, known as Building 7, came falling down to the ground at free-fall speed also, nearly eight hours later that day. Beneath it was the gold from the world bank. When they were sifting through the ground zero rubble, one truck was found crushed, filled with gold. Apparently the rest of the trucks with the gold made it out of the building's basement before the implosion took place, forever destroying the evidence.
There is ample evidence that the Trade Towers had unusual activity in the elevator shafts for weeks prior to the catastrophic national tragedy.
How about the "Put Options?" Don't know about that? Well, the stock market went insane in the days leading up to 9/11. It all revolved around the airlines. Do yourself a favor and watch Loose Change and look at the ample evidence and then ask yourself the question, was 9/11 something that the U.S. government somehow was involved in? A large and ever growing group of red, white and blue people want to know.
According to Wikipedia, "In 2004, Jones was one of '100 notable Americans' who signed a '911 Truth Statement' from 911Truth.org. The statement among other things called (referring to the George W. Bush administration) 'for immediate public attention to unanswered questions that suggest that people within the current administration may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war.' On September 3, 2009, after widespread criticism, Jones issued a statement, 'I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever.'"
It wasn't enough, Jones ultimately resigned his position in the White House over the matter. It is sad that President Obama can't be the one who could actually lead a new investigation into the confusing and contradicting events of September 11th 2001.
But just trying to improve healthcare for poor Americans is an extreme uphill battle being met by strong resistance by angry white Republicans. Imagine what they would do to Obama if he actually sought to find the truth of this matter.
Oh yeah, and Jones is also in trouble for calling the republicans "a$#holes".
To demonstrate what perfect asses the Fox News talking heads are on the matter, I saw an article published today by Phil Kerpen of FOXNews.com with a headline reading:
How Van Jones Happened and What We Need to Do Next
"Now that Jones has resigned, we need to follow through with two critical policy victories."
What we need to do next, eh Kerpin? Aren't you supposed to be the reporter? It sounds like you are trying to be the guy with the torch leading the peasants up the hill.
You have to love it. Fox is as "us versus them" as Bush's neocons ever were.
